About Me

I'm Matvei Karp, though I mostly go by Matthew.

I am currently a rising Freshman at Stony Brook University, and I am very interested in the field of Quantum Computing. I am currently wrapping up my time as the president of the StuyQuantum club at Stuyvesant High School.

I was born in St. Petersburg, russia, but have lived the grand majority of my life in New York City. As such, I am very interested in russian oppositionary politics, and particularly the Ingrian separatist movement, which I support.

While my main field of interest is Quantum Computing, I am also interested in Cosmology and Astrophysics, as well as airships. Prior to joining StuyQuantum in my Freshman year of high school, I was planning on going into a space-related research field, though the experiences I had in the club led me to switch to Quantum Computing.

I continue to be curious about airships, and particularly the potential of lighter-than-air drones. If I had the time and space to try, I would love to attempt to make an airship drone of my own, but unfortunately I can only watch the progress of companies like Roboloon from afar.
